David’s choice of Chief Cathy Lanier of the DC Metropolitan Police as inspiration for characters in his latest novel, True Blue, is the subject of a brief in “Morning Roundup: Local Ties Edition” on DCist.

David Baldacci’s latest book, “True Blue,” features a fictional D.C. Police Chief Beth Perry, who owns a blind dog. Lanier owns five.
