On Good Reads

Published by Office Staff under Blog

David’s novel The Whole Truth is reviewed in a post on Good Reads.

The subject this novel deals with – perception management – seems also interesting and in a sense even timely, particularly given this time and age, as Mr. Baldacci aptly depicted: “Who cares about verifying anything? It’s all about speed. Who gets there first defines the truth.”

On Letters Unlimited with The Plain Dealer

Published by Office Staff under Blog

A quote from David’s novel The Whole Truth about perception management is presented in a post titled “Is the TV News Media Managing Our Perceptions of the Health Care Debate” on Letters Unlimited with The Plain Dealer.

I believe the TV media continue to use what is known as “perception management.” To quote author David Baldacci: “Perception managers do not spin facts. They create facts and then sell them to the world as the truth….”

In the Bennington Banner

Published by Office Staff under Print, Web

David’s presentation of perception management (PM) in The Whole Truth is recommended reading for understanding the concept of PM in an op-ed column titled “Managing the Perception” in the Bennington Banner.

If you want to see PM getting out of hand you should read David Baldacci’s “The Whole Truth” about a man who owns an arms manufacturing corporation that sells arms to all sides in global disputes. Business is off, so he needs to manipulate the market by creating a cold war between Russia and China. It sounds far fetched until you learn about PM.

On Sydney’s Story

Published by Office Staff under Blog

David’s latest novel, First Family, is reviewed in a post on Sydney’s Story.

It’s a quick and engaging story, and I didn’t find it to be too predictable, as it seems a lot of books are these days. I really enjoyed this one, and will likely check out more of Baldacci’s work.

In the Bangkok Post

Published by Office Staff under Print, Web

David’s novel Divine Justice is reviewed in an article titled “Disobey Bad Orders” in the Bangkok Post.

David Baldacci deals with this and more in his 17th novel, Divine Justice. Its protagonist is Oliver Stone (one of several pseudonyms). In his 60s, he’s a troubled man. He’s also a dangerous one, a lethal combination. The author spends over 500 pages laying out his problems. They stem back to the Vietnam War when he was a sergeant who refused to obey an order.

On Nothing Fancy

Published by Office Staff under Blog

David is listed among the blog author’s top ten writers in a post titled “I’d Rather Be Reading” on the On Nothing Fancy blog.

David Baldacci – I first “discovered” David Baldacci in 1996 when he published his first novel, Absolute Power.  Many of you may remember the movie of the same name, starring Clint Eastwood and Gene Hackman.  Since then, he has written several novels, most of which I’ve read.  I recently finished The Camel Club and enjoyed the Oliver Stone character.  Now I’m looking forward to reading Stone Cold and Divine Justice.
